Start from the ancient capital of the Duchy of Normandy.

Simon and Diana's cheese was banished to the roof rack.

Nothing clears a train compartment as fast as my Camembert, but my pyjamas smell of it too!

Another day in the Twelfth Century

Decided I'm off to France to research Book Two of the Lionheart Chronicles. Where is the castle at Brionne? What does the Castle at Beaumont le Roger look like? Was there a ferry at Bouille in the twelfth Century? The search for authentic history goes intercontinental.
Lionheart's father had two lions passant guardant as his emblem. Richard added a third. It is still the Royal Arms of England.
Philippe of France  in blue, painted by a french artist, cleverly conveying the idea that Philippe was the hero of the Battle of Acre.
