Walnuts have been eaten for the last few thousand years. This mill carries on the medieval way of crushing them for oil. They are then squeezed in the press (now actually hydraulic) and the dry matter that is left as a circular cake is then fed to sheep. The shells are used for heating the dish which warms the crushed nuts before pressing.
